Context & Challenge:
Bulkky is a special waste collection service by REMONDIS Digital, catering to both urban and rural users who need an effortless way to dispose of special waste. The primary goal was to redesign the entire booking flow with a mobile-first approach, ensuring a seamless experience for all user groups, from tech-savvy individuals to elderly users.
Key challenges included:
Handling a complex selection process for various collection products and optional services.
Calendar integration with dynamic pricing for different regions and booking slots.
Balancing usability for diverse user demographics with varying tech literacy.
The project aimed to make waste disposal frictionless while increasing accessibility, especially in rural areas and urban households without transport options.
My Approach & Process:
As a UX Consultant, my role was to audit the existing user experience and redesign the booking flow from scratch.
Conducted a heuristic review to identify usability issues.
User interviews to detect pain points and refine the user journey.
Developed a mobile-first, intuitive booking flow that ensures clarity in product selection and scheduling.
I worked closely with developers from the beginning, ensuring design feasibility within the existing tech framework, and held regular concept discussions and design update meetings with stakeholders.
Outcome & Impact:
Successfully redesigned the booking flow with a modern, mobile-first approach.
While concrete performance metrics are not available, the client was highly satisfied with the improved user experience.
